Diversity is important to our family, so incorporating educational activities where the girls can learn more about other cultures is a priority for us. We kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 – October 15) with a matching game. I printed and laminated all the flags of the Spanish speaking countries of the world, then laid them all out at the coffee table for the girls to match up. It was a really fun exercise, and since doing it the first time, we’ve repeated this activity at least 6 times.
It was a great learning activity for me too, because I got an opportunity to learn some of the flags that I’d forgotten, or just hadn’t been familiar with.
